Overview

Nicholas Ray, facing terminal cancer, is determined to finish a last project before he dies. Meanwhile, Wim Wenders, busy with his film Hammett in Hollywood, travels to New York to assist Ray in achieving his dream. Ray envisions a narrative about a dying painter who embarks on a journey to China in search of a cure. As the two filmmakers collaborate, they grapple with the stark reality of Ray's deteriorating health, making the original concept increasingly impractical. Their poignant discussions create a moving exploration of life, art, and mortality.
