Peter McGowan, a once-acclaimed playwright in Los Angeles, now struggles with a decade of flops while grappling with impotence and insomnia. His life takes an unexpected turn when he befriends his new neighbor's shy young daughter, who has mild cerebral palsy. Their budding relationship offers him a glimpse of connection amidst his personal chaos.
