Overview

Nathaniel Pickman Wingate's basement lab inadvertently opens a portal to another dimension. As he prepares for his birthday celebration, his wife Nancy insists he focus on the festivities. Their son Sam is preoccupied with his crush, Jasmine, while Cousin Desmon, now a count from Liechtenstein, visits. When Sam steps out to gather supplies for Nathan, the unexpected happens: Nathan is pulled into the alternate realm. A creature escapes, captures another, and takes on Desmon's form, absorbing his consciousness. Meanwhile, the second creature escapes, and, desperate for a guise, discovers Sam's poster of Jasmine.
