Run Silent, Run Deep (1958)
Captain Matt Merrick, having spent a year on land following the loss of his submarine to a Japanese destroyer in WWII, is eager to return to the sea. Commanding a new sub, he becomes consumed by a quest for vengeance against the enemy ship responsible for his crew's demise. However, his obsession jeopardizes the safety of his new crew, pushing them into perilous situations. As tensions rise, Merrick must confront the balance between his thirst for revenge and the lives of those under his command.
