Once in a Lifetime
Overview
Mona Bergström, a sweet woman in her 30s, lives for Eurovision. She's stuck with a lazy husband and four kids, all named after her favorite Swedish popstars. Her brother calls himself "Candy Darling" and loves crossdressing. Mona works at a retirement home for disabled people, where she cares for David, a young man in a wheelchair due to a movement disorder. His parents abandoned him, wanting a normal child. Mona and David share a deep bond. David dreams of winning his parents back by proving his worth. He creates music on his computer, hoping to get a song to the famous band The Cardigans. If they play it and credit him, maybe his parents will see it and finally visit.
