Father Eoin O'Donnell firmly believes that violence is essential to liberate Ireland from British rule. He persuades the naive Antaine to join the fight during the 1916 Rising, forever altering the young man's destiny. Fast forward fifty years, and Antaine has returned to a fractured Derry, now a seasoned fighter. The bond forged in their youth is tested as the former allies find themselves on opposing sides of the same struggle, forcing Father O'Donnell to confront the consequences of his earlier convictions and the impact of their shared past.
