The Landlord (1970)
Twenty-nine-year-old Elgar Enders seeks a fresh start by purchasing a building in a predominantly black neighborhood of Park Slope, Brooklyn. His initial plan revolves around evicting the tenants to transform the property into upscale apartments. However, as he immerses himself in the community, Elgar's perspective shifts dramatically. The relationships he forges and the realities he faces challenge his preconceived notions, leading him to reconsider his goals and the impact of his decisions on those around him.
