8½ (1963)
Guido Anselmi, a renowned filmmaker, experiences a creative drought just when his career is at its height. Advised by his doctors to take a break, he retreats to a lavish resort, only to be surrounded by a frustrating entourage—his producer, crew, cast, wife, lover, and family—all urging him to return to work. Seeking refuge from their expectations, he escapes into memories of past romances and nostalgic visions of his youth.
