Overview

In 1793, during the French Revolution, Charette, a young ex-Royal Navy officer, has been home for three years. Across the countryside, peasant anger swells, and they urge him to lead their uprising. Within months, the idle sailor transforms into a charismatic commander and cunning strategist, rallying peasants, deserters, women, the elderly, and children into a fearsome army. Their battle for freedom is just beginning.
