Dreams of Getting Rich (2021)
Spanning three decades, this story follows Xiao Bao, a boy from a humble background in northeast China. He embarks on a journey to Shenzhen with Er Ge, the village hairdresser, seeking better opportunities. Their lives take a turn when they unexpectedly find themselves caring for a baby, which complicates their aspirations. Along the way, they encounter Ma Lu, a tough and emotionally distant young woman, whose presence adds tension and depth to their journey. Together, they navigate the challenges of ambition and relationships in a rapidly changing world.
