Overview

In "Scent of a Woman," Charlie Simms, a financially struggling student at a prestigious prep school, seeks to fund his trip back home to Gresham, Oregon, for the holidays. To make some extra cash, he takes on a job during Thanksgiving as a caretaker for Frank Slade, a grumpy, retired U.S. Army officer living with his niece's family. As the two bond over the Thanksgiving weekend, Charlie's life is profoundly impacted by Frank's unique perspective on life and the challenges they both face.
