The Village Album (2004)

As the construction of a dam threatens to drown Hanatani Village in Tokushima Prefecture, the locals unite to document their cherished home through photography. Kenichi, the village's sole photographer, leads the initiative and enlists his estranged son, Takashi, an aspiring photographer, to assist. Initially perplexed by his father's request, Takashi's perspective shifts as they visit each family and capture their memories. Through this shared experience, he gains a deeper understanding of his father's passion and the bond they share, ultimately transforming their relationship amid the impending loss of their beloved village.
