Overview

A group of young Japanese individuals of Chinese heritage flees their rural origins for the bustling streets of Shinjuku, Tokyo. There, they form a bond with a distressed Shanghai sex worker, only to find themselves ensnared in the dangerous web of a local crime syndicate. Reflecting the signature style of director Takashi Miike, this film delves into the darker aspects of Japanese society, highlighting the challenges of assimilation and acceptance faced by those who do not fit the traditional ethnic mold.
