Overview

Set in 1995, five chilling murders unfold, each committed in front of a witness who is left unharmed. Detective Makimura, portrayed by Ito, leads the investigation but struggles to apprehend the elusive killer, even as his own superior falls victim. Fast forward to 2017, with the case approaching its statute of limitations, a man named Sonezaki emerges, boldly claiming responsibility for the crimes. He stirs controversy by releasing a book titled "Watashi ga satsujinhan desu," drawing widespread media attention and igniting public fascination, despite the revulsion his actions provoke.
