Overview

Douglas, an ambitious foreign entrepreneur, arrives in Russia in 1885, eager to introduce his groundbreaking steam-powered timber harvester to the untamed Siberian landscape. Accompanying him is Jane, his dedicated assistant. During their journey, Jane crosses paths with two influential men: the charming cadet Andrej Tolstoy, who shares her passion for opera, and the formidable General Radlov, captivated by her allure and intent on marrying her. As Jane navigates these complex relationships, her life takes unexpected turns amid the challenges of foreign business and personal entanglements.
