The Son of Revenge – The Story of Kalevala

Overview

In 12th-century Karelia, a bitter rivalry between Kalervo and Untamo results in the slaughter of an entire village. The sole survivor is Kalervo's son, Kullervo, whom Untamo takes in and raises as his own. As Kullervo matures, his immense strength and defiant spirit make him a threat, prompting the villagers to wish him gone. Throughout his life, Kullervo seeks meaning in his existence and abilities. When the truth about his past comes to light, revenge becomes his driving force, leading him to confront Untamo and demand justice for the heinous acts committed.
