Overview

Fourteen-year-old Susan Shawson discovers a time-traveling elevator in her Philadelphia building, thanks to an eccentric retired physicist. When the elevator whisks her back to 1881, she encounters Victoria Walker, a girl her age grappling with family issues. As the girls bond, Susan learns to harness the elevator's power, enabling her, Victoria, and her younger brother, Robert, to journey between eras.
