Leonardo Castillo has found an unexpected refuge in skateboarding, which helps him rise above the gang culture surrounding his struggling Chicago neighborhood. While this passion provides a means to cope with the challenges of growing up, a gunshot wound during one summer puts everything at risk and exposes Leo's lack of readiness to confront the realities of adulthood.
