Overview

The Kogure family left Tokyo a decade ago to embrace life in a picturesque satoyama village in Echigo-Tsumari, dedicating themselves to organic rice farming in a charming old thatched farmhouse. Their seemingly carefree existence relies heavily on the support of their vibrant community. However, disaster strikes in spring 2011 when a devastating earthquake hits the Nagano-Niigata border, obliterating their home. Undeterred, the Kogures embark on a journey of resilience and renewal, exploring the enchanting yet unforgiving relationship with nature as they rebuild their lives and reconnect with their roots.
