Richard II

Overview

Richard II, crowned as a child, embodies the essence of nobility but struggles with his role as a ruler. Convinced of his divine right to govern, he proves to be a frail leader, squandering resources and making poor choices in advisors while remaining aloof from his subjects. The turning point comes when he confiscates the lands of his cousin, Henry Bolingbroke, igniting outrage among both the common folk and the nobility.
