Three Strangers (1946)
As the Chinese New Year approaches, three unlikely individuals—Crystal Shackleford, wed to a wealthy but unfaithful husband; Jerome Artbutny, a seemingly upstanding judge; and Johnny West, a petty thief—come together in an unusual alliance. Before a diminutive statue of the Chinese goddess of Destiny, they forge a pact to buy a sweepstakes ticket, vowing to split any potential winnings.
