Overview

Facing her boyfriend's arrest for marijuana possession, Joleen Reedy seeks shelter with her brother James, a man lacking direction. As Joleen escapes with a truck driver, James struggles to handle his newfound responsibilities. When Child Protective Services intervenes and places 11-year-old Tara in foster care, desperation drives James to abduct her. Together, they embark on a tumultuous journey from California to Utah, aiming to confront James's abusive father and find a semblance of safety amid chaos and uncertainty.
