A Moment in the Reeds (2018)
Leevi returns to Finland from Paris for the summer, tasked with renovating his family’s lake house alongside his estranged father, who soon departs for business. Enter Tareq, a Syrian asylum seeker hired to assist. With Leevi’s father away, a tender romance blossoms between the two young men amidst the serene Finnish landscape. Yet, their fleeting connection is overshadowed by the impending return of Leevi’s father and the realities of Leevi's academic commitments abroad, coupled with Tareq's complicated ties to his family back in Syria.
