Amira & Sam (2014)
Sam, a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, connects with Amira while visiting her uncle Bassam, his former Iraqi translator. Initially wary of Sam due to her brother's death at the hands of American forces, Amira's distrust slowly shifts as they spend time together. Meanwhile, Sam's cousin Charlie entangles him in illegal hedge fund schemes without his knowledge. After Amira faces deportation for selling bootlegged films, she finds refuge with Sam. As they navigate their tumultuous circumstances, a deep romance blossoms between the two, challenging their pasts and prejudices.
