In 1616, the town of Boom in Flanders buzzes with excitement as the annual festivities approach. However, the mood shifts when news arrives of the Duke of Olivares, the King's representative, coming to visit. While the men of the town succumb to fear, the courageous women, spearheaded by the burgomaster's fearless wife, take charge.
