Up the Sandbox (1972)
Caught in the monotony of New York City life and feeling overlooked by her husband, a young mother begins to indulge in wild daydreams. Her imagination runs wild with scenarios such as her mother unexpectedly invading their apartment, a party where tribal fertility music leads to bizarre changes, and even a daring escapade involving terrorists plotting to bomb the Statue of Liberty. Each fantasy reflects her inner turmoil and longing for excitement, blurring the lines between reality and her vivid escapist thoughts.
