Jake McLaughlin
Jacob Adam McLaughlin, born on October 7, 1982, is an American actor and a distinguished military veteran. He gained recognition for his compelling portrayals in notable television series, including his roles as Michael Ormewood in *Will Trent*, Ryan Booth in *Quantico*, and William Tate in *Believe*.
Before embarking on his acting career, McLaughlin served in the military, where he was a dismount infantry S.A.W. gunner in Iraq. After his service, he transitioned to civilian life, taking on various jobs such as working on a crab fishing vessel in Oregon and serving as a security guard at Universal Studios. His journey took a pivotal turn when he learned about auditions for Paul Haggis's film *In the Valley of Elah*. With just $200 to his name, he auditioned for the role of Specialist Gordon Bonner, based on real-life events of soldiers in the Iraq War, earning critical acclaim for his performance in the 2007 film.
Following his debut, McLaughlin made brief appearances in films like *The Day the Earth Stood Still* and *Cloverfield*, and guest-starred in series such as *The Unit* and *CSI: Crime Scene Investigation*. His first significant television role came in 2009 with the remake of *Crash*, and he continued to gain momentum with roles in *Warrior* and *Safe House*. In early 2013, he starred in the pilot for *Believe*, created by Alfonso CuarĂ³n, which premiered on NBC in March 2014.
