Mert Yazıcıoğlu was born on May 10, 1993, in Istanbul, Turkey. He completed his education in Istanbul, where he graduated from primary, middle, and high school before enrolling in the Business Administration program at Istanbul Aydın University. However, his passion for acting led him to abandon his business studies to pursue a career in the performing arts.

His journey into acting began unexpectedly during a visit to a TV series set, where he had a brief appearance in the film "Dedemin İnsanları." This experience ignited his ambition, and he soon landed his first significant role in the series "Kayıp Şehir." Yazıcıoğlu initially joined the Cast 33 agency, founded by Sumru Onat, and further honed his craft under the guidance of Ümit Çırak at the Mota Eğitim workshop.

From 2013 to 2016, he gained recognition for his portrayal of "Baran Şamverdi" in the popular series "Karagül," which aired on FOX. His following roles included "Fırat" in "Umuda Kelepçe Vurulmaz" and "Korkut" in "Mehmed: Bir Cihan Fatihi." In 2018, he showcased his talent in the film "İyi Oyun," and from 2018 to 2019, he played "Mahir Yetkin" in the series "Bir Litre Gözyaşı" on Kanal D. Recently, he starred as "Sinan" in the Netflix series "Aşk 101" and currently portrays "Cüneyd Güneş" in the series "Kızıl Goncalar," which premiered at the end of 2023.
