Queen Rania of Jordan

Rania Al Abdullah, born Rania Al-Yassin on August 31, 1970, has served as the queen consort of Jordan since 1999. The daughter of Palestinian parents, Rania grew up in Kuwait, where she completed her education before pursuing a degree in business administration at the American University in Cairo, graduating in 1991. Initially, she worked in banking and information technology, showcasing her professional acumen.

Rania's life took a pivotal turn in January 1993 when she met Abdullah, who was then a prince. Just two months later, they became engaged, and on June 10, 1993, they married, making her a princess. Following the death of King Hussein in 1999, Abdullah ascended to the throne, and Rania was transformed from a princess into queen.

As queen, Rania has passionately advocated for various social issues, particularly focusing on women's and children's rights, education, and environmental sustainability. She established numerous charitable organizations and frequently participates in local and international events, often surprising communities with unannounced visits to remote areas. Committed to fostering understanding between cultures, Rania launched a video blog in 2008 aimed at challenging stereotypes about Arabs and enhancing dialogue with the West. Additionally, she has garnered a substantial following on social media, using these platforms to share her philanthropic initiatives and personal family moments, connecting with millions around the globe.
