Alexis Michalik

Alexis Michalik, born on December 13, 1982, is a talented Franco-British actor, playwright, and director known for his creative adaptations and original works. He has notably transformed Shakespeare's iconic *Romeo and Juliet* into his engaging play *R&J*. Additionally, his repertoire includes self-penned productions such as *Le Porteur d'histoire*, *Le Cercle des illusionnistes*, *Edmond*, and *Intra Muros*. Michalik has also showcased his acting skills in various films like *Sagan*, directed by Diane Kurys, and *Le Chant du loup* by Abel Lanzac. His television appearances span several series, mini-series, and TV films, including the popular *Kaboul Kitchen* by Allan Mauduit and Jean-Patrick Benes. His contributions to theatre have been recognized with multiple Molière awards.

Hailing from a Polish father, an artist, and a British mother, Michalik grew up in the vibrant Abbesses neighborhood of Paris. He attended collège Jules-Ferry and the conservatoire in the 19th arrondissement before successfully passing the entrance exam for the Conservatoire national d'art dramatique.

In 2001, he made his stage debut as Romeo in *Juliette et Roméo*, directed by Irina Brook. Although he gained admission to the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique in 2003, he opted to stage his first production, *Une folle journée*, an adaptation of Beaumarchais' *Mariage de Figaro*, at the Avignon Festival in 2005, where he played the Count. He later founded his theatre company, Los Figaros, inspired by the source material.

In 2006, Michalik directed *La Mégère à peu près apprivoisée*, a musical comedy based on Shakespeare's play, where he portrayed Petruchio. This led to collaborations with producer Arthur Jugnot and notable television appearances, which helped launch
