Leze Qena

Leze Qena, born Elizabeta Spaqi in 1935, was a celebrated Albanian actress hailing from Kosovo, whose remarkable career spanned several decades until her passing in 2020. Growing up in Prizren, she pursued her passion for acting by relocating to Pristina, where she trained and honed her craft. Upon completing her studies, Qena became a prominent member of the National Theatre of Kosovo, showcasing her talent on stage.

Qena gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of grandma Antigona in the beloved television series Familja moderne, which captivated audiences with its relatable storytelling. This role solidified her status as a household name in Albanian entertainment. However, one of her most cherished performances was as Anne Frank in a 1950s theatrical adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank, a role that deeply resonated with her and showcased her range as an actress.
